Customize Your Shoes with NikeID

My running shoes are starting to show some wear so I have decided to order some new shoes from NikeID. This will be my 4th pair of running shoes from Nike and I have got to say I love the shoes almost as much as the customization process. Nike gives you the ability to create your own shoes, complete with your name embroidered on them. If you have odd size feet (which I don’t) you can even order different sizes for your left and right foot as well as different widths. There are tons of shoe styles to choose from for men, women and children.

NikeID is totally cool and I am a huge fan. The only thing that sucks is the 4 week delivery cycle, but it’s worth the wait.

That’s awesome… but I totally thought they were pink when I first looked at the picture. :)

I hope they aren’t pink! You never know with color calibration : )

I was very brand loyal to Nike for a while, they look cool and felt good however I recently went and got fitted at the Orlando Track Shack (http://www.trackshack.com/) when I decided to make running a part of my regular work out regime and they basically fit a shoe to your foot, also keeping in mind your activity level. They put me in some Asics and the difference was amazing, Nike shoes are heavy! If you decide to keep up with your running after your marathon, you should check em out!

How much do the customized shoes cost, and how much is that more than retail?

Also, do you use the Nike+ to track your runs, Ted? If not, I think you should. I haven’t personally – mainly because I suck at running – but it would be a cool way to be able to follow your progress. I assume you can syndicate your uploaded progress somehow…?
